Column Detail – Yerkes Observatory
This particular column features the signs of the Zodiac, as well as celestial bodies. Just lovely. Oh, and I found out the various carvings are terra cotta, therefore I'm assuming they were molded into their shapes. I couldn't work out how they could have been hand-carved. So now I know, and so do you. That's called "information studies," and it costs a mere $ 25,000.
You're welcome. Sage wisdom is a speciality.
P.S.: Update from tick boy, he's fairly certain he's not dying this morning. Tick bite continuing to improve. Not sure what excuse he'll use for warming the sofa this evening, so I'll have to make all the family's lunches by myself. He has several hours to contract a disease. I expect he'll be using Google quite heavily this morning.
I think that terra cotta can be moulded or hand worked. In the latter case it is shaped by hand or with tools and then fired. Can I have my $25,000 back please?
