From Whence They Came

The two photos from my "Infernal" post, as well as the tree trunk from my last photo of the day, came from this area, somewhere around the California redwoods.

I don't even know what you'd call this geographical feature. It's like a really lush canyon, but I don't think that's the proper term. Remember, I only discovered nature existed outside pictorial calendars and television documentaries back in 2006 or 2007. You have to give me a bit to catch up.

But anyway, the ferns lining this *insert term here* were unreal. Hollywood must have set this up, because real things can't be so amazingly green. Either that, or Martha Stewart went nuts with her badass silk plant decorating. Dudette is crazy.

Oh, and to the lady whose behind got in my photo – sorry about that. You're captured here for all posterior-erity.

And yes, I'm also wincing from that godawful pun.

  1. It was only when you said fernms that I realised that was what they were. They are so huge I assumed they were trees. There is no doubt that many of your natural features are just enormous by comparison with ours here in Western Europe.

  2. SS, you have the history, we apparently have the geological features. Though, the Alps aren’t exactly slouches, either! And I love those better than our mountains because there are adorable little towns sprinkled throughout them. I love flowers in window boxes and ancient churches with tall spires. Makes my heart go pitty pat.
