If it's a holiday or celebration of any kind, we go out for sushi. Actually, it doesn't even require a celebration. It just requires leaving the house for dinner out without the kids. We like sushi better than anything else. It's not just food; it's art, when it's done well.
Bistro Wasabi is our favorite local place for sushi. Since yesterday was Valentine's Day, the location nearest us had no open reservations until 9:30 p.m. A little late for those with kids, or should I say those who've hit 40 and start nodding off around 10:00. Luckily, they have another location not too far away. The interior of that restaurant isn't quite as nice. It lacks the uber-contemporary/trendy look of their Lake in the Hills location, but the food? Absolutely the same.
Another Valentine's Day over, flowers, cards, sushi and chocolates exchanged all 'round the family.
Next holiday featuring chocolate: Easter!
