Photo of the Day

Long and Leggy

Today's highs are expected to be around 40 F, marking the first time we've been above freezing in so long I can't remember what it feels like anymore. And over the weekend? Ten degrees warmer!

That may signal the demise of these two conjoined icicles, or it may add more to them from the water dripping off the roof. Either way, I'm pleased with the idea of something resembling warmth.

  1. We are having the reverse weather conditions to you, here in the U.K. My garden is currently under about 3 feet of snow, the roads are empty and silent, my son has been snowboarding all day, and we are promised minus 10 tonight. It’s been like this all week, fun for a while, but hope it doesn’t go on for too much longer. Would you like it back now? We just aren’t used to it, nor geared up for it either.

  2. bellezza, why thank you! I was going to take another photo of it in the afternoon, in full sun, but it had melted to nothing by the time I got home from work. 😦

  3. Carole, it’s poor form to take back a gift, otherwise you KNOW I would … We’re very used to such things here, so we figured you must be completely jealous and anxious to try it out for yourselves. Enjoy!
