Swept Away

Flashing back to our vacation out East over the summer of 2007. This photo was taken at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA, a great place to stop if you're ever in the neighborhood. You could spend a day there wandering around, watching demonstrations of how the Shakers used to make things things like their famous Shaker baskets and various and sundry things made with straw, like chair seats and brooms. If you're into American history and rustic craftsmanship - and I am – it's a great way to spend time. Tons of photo opportunities to be had there, which added to my own personal interest.
