My Top Ten List of Things I’m Thankful For:
1). My right knee isn’t as arthritic as my left. Which is … good?
2). I don’t have to eat my mother’s Thanksgiving meals ever again.
3). Which means we won’t have to dial 9 and 1 before dinner, so in our weakened states it’ll be easier just having to add another 1.
4). GWB is on his way out the door of the White House, baby!! Woooooooooooo! Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, big guy.
5). I’m not vegetarian anymore, which means TOTAL PIG OUT ON TURKEY.
6). My MIL makes a damn fine turkey. Damn fine.
7). Our reduced budget means less holiday shopping!
8). Galpal and I are on for holiday cookie baking this year, again despite mutually tight budgets.
9). Everyone I know and care about is free of any serious physical disease. Mental, now that’s another subject.
10). I am more than halfway through graduate school. PHEW.

Glad to know your MIL cooks but what’s a an MIL? I’m new to your blog and I’m from England – presumably one or other explains why MIL needs explaining! I’m curious to know whether it’s some sort of live-in male or an Aga! (GalPal I can guess at!)

ScriptorSenex, MIL stands for mother in law, sorry for the confusion! Sometimes I used all online acronyms for things and I’m oblivious to the fact not everyone knows what I mean. But now this should open up the whole world of FIL, SIL, BIL, etc, should you encounter them again. Very glad you popped by.

Obvious now I know! Thanks. Don’t stop using online acronyms – it’s educational. Like text messages from my son – I usually wait until he gets home to get him to explain them…
